Uprooted’s Weekly Produce Subscription

Our produce is grown on farms around Nova Scotia. We aim to provide you with as much spray free and organic produce as possible.

Large Subscription – $30/week (2 – 4 people)
10 weeks – $300 (Value of over $350)
5 weeks – $150

Small Subscription – $20/week (1 – 2 people)
10 weeks – $200 (Value of over $250)
5 weeks – $100

Each week you will receive a bag of seasonal veggies (and sometimes fruit!). While the quantity and variety will change over the season, we aim for our large share to feed between 2-4 people each week and our small share to feed between 1-2 people each week. Our weekly offering will include some of the items you would typically find at Uprooted, as well as specialty items that we don’t always get in store (including melons, patty pan squash, herbs and heirloom varieties)

Through the winter you will see root vegetables including beets, carrots, parsnips, turnip, potato, sweet potato as well as onions, mushrooms, kale, brussels sprouts, pea-shoots, micro-greens, leeks, frozen blueberries, cranberries, peas and tomatoes. Toward the end of winter we will start to have spinach, and hot house english cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers. In the spring and early summer  you can expect lots of greens (salad mixes, spinach, arugula, beet greens), fiddleheads, radishes, peas, rhubarb, asparagus, spring garlic, spring onions, and spring herbs. Mid to late summer, we’ll start seeing broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, cucumbers, beans, beets and bunched carrots. Into the fall you can expect a variety of cooking greens such as kale and swiss chard, plus spaghetti squash, acorn squash, leeks, potatoes, pumpkins, sweet potatoes and apples.

FAQs

How do I sign up?

Visit us in store or sign up here!

What if I am away or unable to pick up my vegetables?

If you are away or have too many leftovers in your fridge that you don’t need your veggies (we don’t want you throwing food away!) just send us an email to [email protected] before 5pm on the Wednesday before and we will pause your order for that week. If you pause your veggies for a week it will be added on to the end of your subscription. If you do not let us know ahead of time, and don’t show up for your veggies by 5pm on Monday they will be donated to the Old School Food Pantry.

What if I would like to cancel my subscription?

There are no returns on the subscription, if you would like to transfer your weekly subscription to someone else please let us know so that we can update the recipient information.

What if I would like to buy a subscription for a friend, family member or neighbour?

That would be great! We can provide you with a gift certificate indicating that you have purchased a subscription for them, we ask that the recipient then contact us with their information and we will provide them with the details of the pickup.

Can I purchase the subscription week to week?

Your subscription must be paid in advance. If you would like to pay week to week you can start by paying a week before the subscription starts and pay for the following week each time you pick up your subscription.
