Rootabaga – January 17, 2021

This week is all about the root vegetables. One of my favourite ways to eat root vegetables is roasted in the oven with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. I’m not a huge fan of rutabaga so this week I am going to try a new soup recipe which claims to taste similar to Broccoli & Cheddar soup, here’s hoping! I don’t know about you but I’ve always thought rutabaga and turnip were the same thing, apparently they are different. Rutabaga is sweeter and usually harvested at a larger size than turnip, whereas a turnip is typically picked when smaller and has a taste more similar to radishes.
