Rootabaga – June 21, 2020

It sure does feel like summer out there with the heat we’ve been having. On top of all of this beautiful weather, restrictions are lessening AND its officially strawberry season! Word around the markets is that bunched carrots, new potatoes and peas are just around the corner so that means hodge podge season is almost here. What is your favourite early summer veggie? I honestly can’t pick, there are too many to look forward to!

This week’s subscription includes swiss chard. Similar to beet greens and spinach, swiss chard is super healthy and tastes great steamed and then topped with a bit of butter and/or vinegar.
