Rootabaga – COVID-19 Edition

Hi everyone, it’s been a month since we temporarily closed our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m not sure how it’s already been a month, what a whirlwind. We are slowly getting used to our new normal, figuring out what works, and what doesn’t, with our new online store and deliveries. Thank you all for your patience as we navigate this challenging time.

It’s been brought to my attention that knowing what is in your Rootabaga prior to receiving it helps to plan what else you might want to order for the week so I am going to try to update the blog by Friday evening in order to give you time to get your orders in.

We have changed our regular online order pickups to Monday and Thursday, but will continue to have pickup available for Rootabaga Subscriptions and our subscribers’ online orders on Sundays from 10am to 2pm, that’s right, you get the VIP treatment! Please if you plan to add an online order to your subscription for the week, we ask that you have your online orders in no later than 10pm on Saturday night and if you could just write in the comments of your order that you intend to pick up your order with your subscription that would also be a huge help!

This week’s subscription includes the following:

Large Subscription:

Cluster tomatoes (1lb) – Grown by Den Haan Greenhouses in Lawrencetown, NS
Basil – Grown by River View Herbs in Maitland, NS
Peppers (1lb) – Grown by Stokdijk Greenhouses in Truro, NS
Sweet Potatoes (2lb) – Grown spray free by Elmridge Farm in Centreville, NS
Onions (2lb) – Grown conventionally by Sawlers in Berwick, NS
Celeriac (2lb) – Certified organic, grown by Taproot Farm in Port Williams, NS
Parsnips (1lb) – Grown spray free by Elmridge Farm in Centreville, NS
Lettuce Mix (1/4lb) – Grown by River View Herbs in Maitland, NS
