Well I don’t know about you, but that sure felt like the longest January EVER! But we made it through and we are one month closer to spring, with the days starting to get longer, greenhouse grown cucumbers are starting up again, which I always find to be a nice treat. Throw some sliced cukes on a sandwich with micro-greens and grated carrot and you can almost pretend its summer for a minute.
This week’s subscription includes a sweet mix of sun shoots and corn shoots from Snowy River Farms in Cooks Brook. We are so lucky to have Amy and her lovely little family supply us all year round with their amazing pastured pork and chicken but also with shoots and some other produce throughout the summer months.
We’re trying something a little different this week and adding some vegetable stock in with your subscription because even though it is super easy to make, I often forget to make it myself and let me tell you, homemade soup is so much better when you have a good base to start out with!

Kohlrabi is a tricky vegetable because it is so unknown to most people, but I found a couple of recipes online that I thought looked pretty tasty, so hopefully this helps!
