We’re starting to see some warmer weather in the forecast and as a result more variety in the veggies available each week. This week we are introducing Swiss Chard grown certified organic by Taproot Farm in Port Williams. Swiss Chard is high in Vitamin K, Vitamin A and fibre and can be eaten raw or cooked. Try sautéing with garlic and onions, steamed or in a soup or stew!

Sunday | Sautéed Swiss Chard with garlic and lemon juice with baked halibut |
Monday | Sweet Potato Falafels with garden salad (lettuce, radishes & chives) |
Tuesday | Grilled asparagus, peppers and radishes with bbq chicken breast |

- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 bunch swiss chard, ends trimmed, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- salt & pepper
- Wash swiss chard well
- Melt butter in large pan
- Saute garlic in butter, 2 minutes
- Add swiss chard and toss to coat with garlic and butter
- Cover pan and cook for 6-8 minutes or until swiss chard is tender, stirring occasionally
- Remove from heat
- Stir in lemon juice and season to taste with salt and pepper
